Sabanetas, Marcala, Honduras
This is a rainwater catchment project that will serve a small school in a community called Sabanetas in Marcala, Honduras which is a community we have been working with for a couple years on another project that we are transitioning out of.  The harvested rainwater system will be used primarily for handwashing (there is no existing running water) but will be used in Phase 2 for latrines.  This project is just getting off the ground so there are a number of opportunities for people to get involved.  Contact us today to find discuss how you can help, or come to one of our upcoming meetings (listed on the home page).

There is a lot to do in Marcala, so we hope to have a long relationship.

UPDATE (contact us for more details)

The meeting on 6/16/10 was quite successful.  We had a rain water catchment expert there to discuss designing a system for the house in the upper portion of the property.  Also, the barrel has been cut and is ready to be assembled into a wind turbine.

Currently, the plan is to build the wind turbine on Saturday July 10 at a member's house.  Once the location is verified, an email will go out with details on time and place.

Then, we are hoping to travel up to Dakini Valley the weekend of July 31/Aug 1 and the following weekend, Aug 6/7.  We are hoping to get the video for fundraising filmed the second weekend so please try to make it up!
